Goodbye Meta

After downloading my information from Meta accounts (both Facebook & Instagram), I requested the permanent deletion of both of the accounts.

I signed up to Facebook in 2013 and stopped using it in 2018 (the reason being lack of interest). I was using Instagram till now and it has become very time consuming entertainment platform rather than just a social media.

I was thinking about quitting both FB and Instagram for a long time and was skelptikal that should I keep my data or not. Today while reading a blog post about today's web, I came to know about a link saying "delete facebook", I visited it and end up deleting Instagram and Facebook both.

I downloaded my Instagram data and all the information and was shocked to know how much info they keep related to single user. I was involved with 3979 advertisers who can use my activity or information for their marketing, 72 websites that were affiliated with Meta activities.

I am assured that I made a good decision.
